Child Border-Crossers Live Better Than Many American Children

Unaccompanied illegal migrant children who are taken in by the United States have a higher standard of living than many American Children.
Breitbart reports that once the alien children are taken into federal care, more money is spent on them than more than 13 million American kids who live below the poverty line across the U.S.
In 2017 there were nearly 41,000 children taken into the Unaccompanied Alien Children program facilitated by the Office of Refugee Resettlement. Taxpayers paid $1.4 billion that year to care for these alien minors, which worked out to approximately $34,500 .
A 2016 Children’s Defense Fund report showed that 13.2 million children below the age of 18 lived in households with an income of $24,500 or less. In other words, entire households were taking in at least $10,000 less than the federal money spent on individual children in the alien program.
The living conditions that unaccompanied border crossing minors receive are likely better than the legal American children living below the poverty line. These comforts include food, lodging, clothes, medical care, schooling, recreation, counseling, and other services.
In spite of the mainstream media reporting the Trump administration “throwing children into cages”, the shelters provide the young migrants with all the required amenities and more. They buildings are much like dorm rooms will full cafeterias, class rooms, and medical facilities.
They are required to attend class for six hours a day, have access to telephones, receive therapy and, and have social activities. They can even go on outings to museums, the zoo, parks, and other places in the cities where they are located.
Overall, all reports indicate that these children are happy despite their unfortunate prior circumstances.
